The Gulf of Hisaronu

The Gulf of Hisaronu Although the Gulf of Hisaronu offers a great contrast to the Gulf of Yesilova, with its much darker seas and much greener coast, surrounded by pine clad hills and mountains, it too is surrounded by a myriad of small bays and harbours which are great for lazy sailing and exploration.

Some of the more polular are:

Keci Buku (Goat Bay)

Keci Buku (Goat Bay) With a large marina offering water, power, showers, a launderette and a small supermarket, and only 30 minutes from Marmaris by dolmus, this is a good place to stop if you by-passed Marmaris but still want to do some heavy-duty shopping.

The village of Orhaniye offers several restaurants and is surrounded by the ruins of ancient Bybassos. There is also a small island which offers spectacular views of the bay.

Selimiye

Selimiye waterfront Just south of Keci Buku is the smaller bay of Selimiye, largely unspoilt and with beautiful scenery. There are several small restaurants, one of them excellent, plus a bakery and a grocery in the village at the southern end of the bay.

Bencik

Bencik looking out to The Gulf of Hisaronu Looking rather like a miniature fjord, this inlet extends inland about 1.5 miles with steep wooded slopes on either side. There is no restaurant here so, unless you are eating aboard, this is just a lunch stop.

This is the narrowest point on the Datca peninsular but the wonderful views require a steep climb to get them.

Ciftlik

Ciftlik from the air Ciftlik is a small bay with a beach, half way up the peninsula towards Datca, with a hotel and several restaurants. On the other side of the Adatepe headland is the more secluded Kuruca Buku.
